Stanley Beach
Stanley was discovered in 1841. It is the capital of Hong Kong of those days. There are about 2000 people and it was consider as a big city. Stanley Market is an open-air market, selling many traditional handicrafts and clothes at reasonable prices. We can also find silk garments, sportswear, art, Chinese costume jewellery, souvenirs and other bargains, and is definitely worth the half-day or so it will take to visit. There are many bars and restaurants along the Stanley beach. The Stanley market now has become a favorite place for local and foreign shoppers.
Christmas Dinner
(EL CID Caramar Spanish Restaurant - Murray House)
(EL CID Caramar Spanish Restaurant - Murray House)
A nostalgic reminder of the Colonial-style architecture that dominated Central District in early Hong Kong, Murray House was carefully dismantled in 1982 to make way for the towering Bank of China glass tower that now occupies its former site. After remaining near forgotten in storage for those many years, the carefully numbered blocks of stone that made up the graceful old building were painstakingly reassembled at Stanley to create this charming reminder of old Hong Kong. Besides shops and restaurants, the interior holds valuable relics of the building's rich past.
